Historic Name TABOR HOUSE
Description of Significance THE TABOR HOUSE IS THE ONLY EXTANT LOCAL EXAMPLE OF THE PRAIRIE SCHOOL STYLE. IT IS A TWO-STORY RECTANGULAR BUILDING CONSTRUCTED IN 1912. IT HAS A HIPPED ROOF AND ASBESTOS SIDING. THE PRIMARY FACADE FEATURES A SINGLE STORY PARTIAL WRAPAROUND PORCH WITH A WOOD SHINGLED HIPPED ROOF. THE PORCH HAS ITS ORIGINAL, SLIGHTLY TAPERED UNFLUTED COLUMNS AND SANDSTONE PIERS. THERE IS A PORTE COCHERE TOPPED BY A SLEEPING PORCH. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 9/23/1996.
